This is I, 23 year old, still grammatically-challenged and bettering myself.

23 is Jack Shephard number, it has become my favorite number and I decided to epitomise myself with a lot of neutral elements in this age. Positive or negative acts, who are we to decide?

Well, some of the years passed me by and I always blog the list of upcoming events slash wish list based on what age I entered. Well, instead of looking forward or looking back like I used to do, I'd like to challenge myself in awkward-winning Q&As, listed by ME, MYSELF and I. Yes. (Except that in fact I ran out idea and ask some friends to fill in the questions gap)

In these couple of months, I've been (happily) stranded in journalism (like Locke on the island). I've been doing some Q&As myself addressed to several thoughtful people and decide this is another cool way of knowing what they like, what they think and how to act normal when not. Not just that, it emerged into improvisation like, segmented input to myself. You know, the whole different point-of-views and all that jazz. I decided to re-do them to myself for the birthday present. Long story short, go figure!

Describe yourself in 3 words:
I'm helplessly indescribable

What is your passion?
I have always been lacking in speaking and strangely drown myself into writing. Twitter, blog, a couple of thoughts, even I always annoyingly interrupted the group work if it's related into paper back then when I was in school. By writing stuffs, I'd like to give myself flowing opinions that mostly abrupt only when my finger hit the keyboards or the pen stroke on the pages. The post-writing plethora for me also is when some who skim and scan engage with what I've shared in pro feedback and even not. Writing transform intuition and thoughts and gather one side with another into the same interesting platform.

What would you do if you're not into writing?
Contemporary dancer and choreographer. They're magically flying with such adept techniques and irreplaceable emotions. And it's a form of communication. But no, I don't dance.

Why did you seem to be more comfortably writing in English more than the mother language, Bahasa Indonesia?
I grew up in Bahasa Indonesia and dreadfully failed in English back when I was early teenager (well, I'm still technically average now). But as I grew up, I develop more serenity in English than Bahasa to convey meaning. I always identify my writing as synesthesia-ed (yeah right), and then suddenly I found people (and me) are not comfortable doing it with Bahasa. The lack of vocabularies in Bahasa also occurred, not just because the Bahasa itself is lacking. But because we are so busy re-establish every substantial words with the 'anu' word and don't bother to recall the 'old-fashioned' vocabs that now can only be found in yellowed-literature. Bahasa is interesting anyway, I will definitely have to learn more.

What shocked yourself recently?
Apart from being considered as 'extrovert' and 'headstrong', I'm shocked that people shocked that I don't know what 'peju' means.

What film you watched as 'pencitraan' although you don't have fuckin' idea what that was all about? (Question by Ardina)
Memento, Christopher Nolan -- I did watch it once and doesn't have the urge to second-watch it.

I enjoy every kind of music. It soundtracks every moments, the moment I am happy, I get melancholic, in rage, or whenever I feel energetic, for funeral, to help sleep and whenever I stir slip. I don't have the reason to desert them and tell people I adore them. I adore them.

Why films matter to you?
I once read the quote that we are the generation of people get stuck into the philosophies by watching films. I do believe that. Film is very subjective and very related to what I am and what I am facing.

Why did you get your skin tattooed?
I've decided to have at least one, one year ago. I love words and want to get reminded endlessly by its 'philosophy'. I did them stapled in the ankle at 22.

You are very devoted into writing activities, why aren't you developed the same idea with reading books?
I don't grew up reading books because I am not allowed to buy novels and I get very easily distracted by scanning letters, you know, a media without sound and image. I grew up stalking vcd's and music and magazines which elaborate the emotions. Thank God, my final paper introduced me to reading textbooks and literature, I've been making efforts to read books.

I used to be a 91% introverted, now it's declining into 79, authentic proof that I learn. I trust open-minded inner circle.

If you had chance to direct a film, which genre are you on? (Questions by Gabriella)
Drama/satire. I find it very funny, entertaining and pretty poignant at the same time in simple story about complicated person and their relationship towards family, friends or even cats and neighbors. It makes you think, re-evaluate your life and it throws different chain of reaction to its audience like Joko Anwar remarked this morning. That's exactly what I've been thinking as the magical elements I find in films, whether it's award-winning, critically-acclaimed, box-office tackies or lame movies people laughed at.


If you had chance to have an international director as mentor, who would he/she be? (Question by Gabriella)
I'm not a fan of certain directors. But Baz Luhrmann and Christopher Nolan will be my pick besides Martin Scorsese, Bryan Singer and Wong Kar Wai (that bokeh-style, huh)

I am completely honest about who I am, who I want to be, what I feel. However, sometimes you don't realise you've been lying to yourself for all these years. It is possible, isn't it?
